Simon and Schuster Australia to publish a book by a body inclusive personal trainer and certified intuitive eating counsellor
Simon & Schuster Australia has acquired rights to a book by Shreen El Masry.
Shreen is a non-diet, body inclusive and Health At Every Size ( HAES) personal trainer, certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor and the owner of Be You Be Free, a non-diet, body inclusive, fitness and wellbeing community based in Sydney, Australia.
Her own personal struggles set her on a mission to change the narrative around fitness and diet culture and show women that their weight has nothing to do with their self-worth. ‘I spent nearly two decades of my life at war with my body, trying diet after diet, after diet. But it was after being weight shamed, just after my 24th birthday, that led me to the diet that developed into an eating disorder. After nearly being sectioned under the mental health act, it was the turning point I needed to make a full recovery.
That is when I decided to have a complete career change, to go back to university and train as a Body Inclusive Personal Trainer and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. I started Be You Be Free, and I now help people all around the world break free from dieting and make peace with food, exercise, and their bodies so they can start living the joyous, purposeful, and fulfilled lives that they deserve. This book will not be about fixing yourself. It will be about becoming your true self.’
This publication will present a special 12-week guide that will show readers how to find food freedom, body peace and joyful exercise as well as help them create their own version of wellbeing on their terms.
Shreen’s plan will go beyond physical benefits and it promises that in just 12 weeks, anyone could go a whole day without constantly thinking about what is wrong with their bodies or saying mean things to themselves.
Emma Nolan, non-fiction publisher at Simon & Schuster Australia said: `I’m thrilled to be working with Shreen on this project. Her message that all people deserve to have a positive body image couldn’t be more timely.'
Simon and Schuster Australia will publish Shreen’s book in early 2022.
