Happy Hands Make for a Happy Life
Meet Ghanshyam Singh Birla
If you have picked up Palmistry for Happiness, chances are you’re looking for a way to bring more happiness into your life or into the life of a friend or a loved one. If that is the case, which I am pretty sure it is, I have good news—you’ve come to the right place. Believe it or not, the lines crisscrossing your palms create a map of your life; learning to read that map (which you are about to do) will put you on a path toward lifelong happiness. That’s not to say you won’t face challenges, hardships, or even heartbreak; pain and sorrow are an inevitablepart of being alive. But palmistry will show you how to transform suffering and sadness into understanding, acceptance, and compassion—a combination that keeps happiness alive and thriving at the core of your being no matter how many lemons the universe dishes out to you.
That’s not a pipe dream; it’s a fact. I’ve been a professional Vedic palmist for more than fifty years and have consulted with literally thousands of clients from every walk of life—from incarcerated criminals to Fortune 500 CEOs and everything in between. Without fail, every man, woman, and child who has traveled to my office or contacted me online has done so for the same basic reason—happiness has either eluded him or her or has disappeared from his or her life completely.
Like many of us, most of those clients placed the blame for their discontentment, absence of joy, or a chronic case of the blues on external circumstances, such as a difficult upbringing, a rocky marriage, an unsatisfying job, their physical appearance, or a lack of money. But, as palmistry teaches, real happiness—the kind that endures across the years—can’t be found in what we own, the way we look, or the size of our bank account; lasting happiness is an inside job. And that is where the wonder of the lines and signs of the hand comes into play—and comes to the rescue!
LOOKING BENEATH THE SURFACE
The real beauty of palmistry is that it opens our eyes and our heart so we can see beyond the surface of existence and connect to the source of all happiness—our innermost self. Socrates, perhaps the most famous philosopher of antiquity, told us that true happiness is only possible with self-knowledge—by understanding and accepting ourselves as we are as individuals, which obviously includes all our thoughts, emotions, desires, fears, dreams, and passions. And, in my humble opinion, Vedic palmistry is one of the best methods of increasing our self-awareness, and hence our level of happiness.
Even more exciting is the fact that the lines in our hand trace the history of our life. Our lines show us the choices and decisions we have made in the past and where those choices and decisions have led us. Hence, we can use that information to forecast where we are headed in life, and, if we don’t like the outcome, we can use palmistry to make the necessary course corrections to avoid repeating the same mistakes that have held us back. In some ways, being a palmist is like being a meteorologist—we study historical patterns to predict future trends. So, if we have been rocked by stormy relationships in the past, we can use the knowledge we gain from studying our palm to push those storm clouds away once and for all.
For example, if we have been searching for a soulmate but always end up with Mr. or Ms. Wrong, the lines and signs of our hand can help us remedy our unhappy situation. How? Well, broken lines, for instance, often reveal that our issues with other people may actually be unresolved issues we have with ourselves, which we can identify and correct with a basic understanding of our palm. In other words, learning to fix a broken Heart Line could help us heal a broken heart. Indeed, palmistry is a healing science that comes to us from a renowned line of Vedic teaching.
THE FAMILY OF VEDIC SCIENCES
Like yoga, Ayurvedic healing, astronomy, and astrology, Vedic palmistry is founded upon the wisdom and insights of the Vedas, India’s most sacred and ancient texts, which are among the earliest written works in history. That doesn’t mean the Vedas are a collection of dusty thoughts from the distant past—Vedic math is still taught to millions of students in schools throughout India today, Vedic medicine is practiced throughout the East, and Vedic philosophy is studied in every major university on the planet. But while philosophic and scientific in nature, the Vedas also (and most importantly) provide us with practical advice on living a fulfilling, contented, and happy life.
In a nutshell, the Vedas are an incredible compendium of knowledge introduced to the world more than five thousand years ago by Himalayan rishis (seers). They provide such a keen window into the human condition that some of the greatest minds of the modern era have been convinced the Vedas are divinely inspired. That includes famed German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, renowned writers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, Mahatma Gandhi, and physicist Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, just to name a few.
When it comes to palmistry, the earliest Vedic practitioners realized that the makeup of our palms—every line, sign, and shape—reflected an essential part of our being; that the palm was an uncanny mirror of our mind and a very precise representation of how we think, feel, behave, and use our vital energies.
I discovered that truth a long time ago and with that discovery came the realization that palmistry had the potential to be one of the most effective personal development programs ever devised. Indeed, if you commit to reading this book from start to finish, you will find you have embarked on an exciting journey of self-discovery that will profoundly enrich your life and fill your heart with happiness, just as it has done for me.
Decades of experience have taught me that Vedic palmistry is a powerful method of examining the most hidden recesses of the human psyche. Studying the handprints of tens of thousands of clients over the years has left no doubt in my mind that our hopes and dreams, phobias and fears, desires and disease, attitudes and addictions are all registered in our hands. More importantly, I have discovered that the root causes for any of these disruptions and distresses in our lives are imbalances in our personal energy, which I refer to throughout this book as happiness blockers. These imbalances can be identified, corrected, and even eliminated once we understand what the features of our palms are telling us. Indeed, Vedic palmistry not only promotes positive change, all-around success, and healing and happiness, but it is also a powerful preventive measure we can use to avoid mental, emotional, and physical distress.
HAPPINESS AWAITS
Change Your Lines, Change Your Life
Once again, this is not just a theory, guesswork, or wishful thinking; it is a measurable and quantifiable scientific fact. Why am I so certain that palmistry can change our life for the better? Because the lines of our hands physically change when we consciously change the way we think and behave. Wow! Let me say that again: When we make changes in our attitude, outlook, and actions, we will see changes in the lines of our hands. For example, a short Heart Line can grow into a line that is long and strong when we make a conscious effort to be more loving in word, thought, and deed. Pretty amazing, right? Hence, Vedic palmistry is an extraordinary barometer of personal growth. By taking our handprints at regular intervals, we can witness, monitor, and calculate the progress we are making as we move toward a happier life. In short, Vedic palmistry—which has been practiced with reverence and respect for many centuries in my native India—is a tried-and-true method of establishing, restoring, and maintaining peace of mind and a sense of joy in our lives.
Okay, I’ve been making some big claims—but if you read on, you will see, as they say, that proof is in the pudding—and in this case the pudding is our handprints. That’s why this book includes many before and after handprints from clients whose lives have been transformed through the practice of Vedic palmistry and an understanding of Vedic philosophy, which promotes balance in all things.
