About The Book

Enthusiasts endlessly debate who the best New Zealand rugby players are across different eras. Respected rugby writer Jamie Wall weighs in with his Immortal All Blacks team.
The Immortals of New Zealand Rugby celebrates the greatest players to wear the legendary silver fern-adorned jersey. It takes the Immortals concept made famous elsewhere in the sporting world and applies it to the 15-player game.
Wall chooses his XV Immortals, telling the remarkable stories behind pioneering and modern-day players including World War I veteran Maurice Brownlie, Samuel Whitelock and Ma'a Nonu.
Each player is profiled in a dedicated chapter including career statistics and multiple action images, and an honourable mentions chapter includes players who just missed out on Immortals status.

About The Author

Jamie Wall grew up in Wellington, New Zealand, and is now based in Auckland as a senior rugby writer for RNZ. He has been covering rugby, league and other sports for the last decade.
Wall has been an active player of both codes for the last three decades. He says he knows what it's like to be at the bottom of a ruck and to get worked over by a guy twice his size after an ill-advised dart from dummy half. Career highlights include covering the All Blacks as a touring journalist since 2017; publishing four books, including the bestselling Brothers In Black; covering two All Black Rugby World Cups; becoming a radio and TV sports pundit; and getting to take the Ranfurly Shield home.
