Actress, writer and producer Emily Hampshire is best known for her role as “Stevie Budd” in the hit comedy series Schitt’s Creek opposite Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. The series recently made history by winning nine Emmy Awards across all major categories in its final season. She can currently be seen starring in the highly acclaimed Amazon series The Rig and will next be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy The End of Sex.

Emily also stars opposite Adrien Brody in Chapelwaite, a series based on Stephen King’s short story Jerusalem’s Lot, which premiered in the U.S. last year, and is well known for her role in the Hulu series 12 Monkeys, for which she earned numerous accolades for her performance in the character first made iconic by Brad Pitt. Her recent credits include starring opposite Maddie Ziegler in the coming-of-age “traumedy” Bloody Hell from director Molly McGlynn; Zoe Lister-Jones’ Roku Comedy Series Slip; Jake Johnson’s Self-Reliance opposite Andy Samberg and Anna Kendrick and the Hulu horror comedy Appendage directed by Anna Zlokovic.

Emily is a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, of which she is a member. She has used her voice to support and spread awareness for the community and she strives to work with more LGBTQ+ actors, writers, producers, and fashion designers. All of her projects in development include LGBTQ+ characters—not just to be inclusive but to normalize and reduce stigma, particularly for trans and non-binary people. Hampshire has been featured in The Advocate, Gay Times, and many other publications talking about LGBTQ+ representation. GLAAD recognizes her as a prominent and supportive member of the LGBTQ+ community.

A Montreal native, Hampshire currently splits her time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
