About The Author

Don Joseph Goewey is the director of the Center for Spiritual Exchange, the agency founded by Anthony De Mello. Don managed the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University Medical School and also directed the Center for Attitudinal Healing that pioneered a psycho-spiritual approach to overcoming catastrophic life events; in 2005, the Center was awarded the AMA’s Excellence in Medicine citation. He has worked with people in some of the most stressful situations on earth—from refugees of war to people facing life-threatening illnesses. Don also participated in a think tank that integrated psychology, spirituality, and neuroscience into an approach for resolving the reactive patterns caused by fear conditioning.

Don is the author of Mystic Cool: The Neuroplasticity of Attitude and The End of Stress, both of which facilitate the shift in mindset that changes brain structure to quiet stress reactions and amplify the higher brain function that predicts greater success and happiness in life. Don is also the editor of the works by the late Anthony De Mello, including Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All is Well, A Year with Anthony De Mello: Waking Up Week by Week, and the Awareness Deck: 108 Cards for Selection and Inspiration.
